December 2020 Activities

Sending peace, love and joy to our entire Nursery Family from the past, present and future.

December Cover

All of our activities will be running alongside children's individual interest.

1st December through 4th December

Children throughout Nursery will be designing their own letters to Santa, using a variety of mediums such as cutting, sticking and drawing. We will also be making our own festive salt dough decorations in readiness for next week’s activities.

Weeks Commencing 7th and 14th December

Both weeks will be full of a variety of Christmas craft activities and festive baking. Nursery is extremely disappointed we are unable to hold our annual Family Christmas Event owing to Covid restrictions. We are not letting Covid get in the way so we still would like to create a little bit of the Christmas magic we share on night through our individual Christmas bags which are being sent home with the children. Each bag will contain reindeer food, a personal salt dough decoration made by your child, something sweet made at Nursery, together with some festive colouring pictures to be enjoyed at home.

Our Christmas Jumper Day is on Friday 11th December and the children are invited to come dressed in a festive jumper for a £1 donation towards Save the Children. We will also be serving our traditional Christmas dinner for the children.

Nursery will have it’s own special post box for the children to send off letters to Santa and if you would like to make any at home with your child, please feel free to bring them in for posting in the red post box located in the lobby.

The children will be celebrating Hanukkah on 16th and 17thDecember by creating their own 3D dreidels and traditional menorah’s.

Friday 18th December sees the end of the autumn term and we invite the children to come dressed in party wear to enjoy a range of games and festive party treats. With this being the last day of term, we will wish our term time children a very Merry Christmas and we will look forward to seeing them back with us as from Monday 4thJanuary 2021.

Week Commencing 21stDecember

In celebration of National Robin Day on 21st December, throughout the week the children will be taking a look at the wildlife in our gardens, taking nature walks to see if we can spot any robins, as well as making food for the bird to help them over the winter months.

Christmas Eve is PJ Day and we invite the children to come in snuggly and warm dressed in festive PJ’s to enjoy our final Christmas activities and a Christmas movie treat in Preschool. Please remember that we will be closing at 4.00pm on Thursday 24th December.
