November 2016 Activities

Follow the firework code everyone & have fun! "Enjoy yourselves on firework night, rockets & sparklers a wonderful sight, dangerous if handled so be aware, always ask grownups to handle with care".

Bonfire-Night

All of our activities will be running alongside children's individual interests.

Week commencing 31st October

31st October is our annual Halloween Party so book your child’s place if they don’t normally attend on a Monday.

To link in with the overall topic of the month being safety and people who help us, our over 2’s children will be making firework pictures, rockets, bonfire collages and delicious chocolate apples, together with our Pre-School children learning about fire safety and watching Francis the Firefly. Our Baby Room will join in with creating fire work themed biscuits to enjoy. Within the Pre-School Room, our role play area will be turned into a fire station to enhance their imagination.

Week commencing 7th November

Don’t forget it’s Parent Pop In Week so please speak to your child’s Key Worker to arrange to view your child’s Learning Journey.

Our under 3’s will be celebrating nursery rhymes for World Nursery Rhyme Week and having a trip out to Hancock St Children’s Centre to use the library facilities. The Babies will be having fun playing with the instruments whilst listening to their favourite nursery rhymes.

In honour of Remembrance Day on 11th November, our Pre-School children will be talking about soldiers and how they help us throughout the week as well as all of the children making poppies and having a Wear it Red Day on Friday the 11th.

Week commencing 14th November

Children in Need is on Friday 18th November and the children and staff are invited to come to Nursery dressed in their PJ’s. Throughout the week the children will be making hats, decorating biscuits and having a spot themed tea party with party games.

Week commencing 21st November

Road Safety Week runs from 21-27th November and is the UK’s biggest road safety event so in recognition and to help raise awareness, the children will be going to Griffin Park to use the road playground to learn about road safety.

On Thursday 24th November, Nursery will be holding our very own Thanksgiving by way of an American themed lunch to celebrate the holiday. Yum!
