Saturday 9th July marked the date for this year's graduation celebrations for our pre-schoolers who will be heading off to 'big school' in September.
The day started early for all the staff with the kitchen bustling in activity while some 100 gold and burgundy balloons were being inflated to decorate nursery. The children started to arrive for party games with dancing and prizes prior to getting ready to walk up the isle to receive their diploma in front of a packed audience of our lovely families.
Special mention was given to Donna Rendell by way of her excellent links in parent partnership and she was awarded her own Certificate of Merit and a bottle of bubbly to say thank you for the love and support she has shown to Nursery.
It was another packed house of excited parents and extended families who came to take part in their child's first educational milestone and following the formal graduation proceedings, the tradition of all the children and our invited families gathered together for food and photographs in the garden. The sun wasn't as kind to us this year but at least the rain held off.
We say this every year and this year is no exception, it is such a difficult time for all the staff when we have to say our goodbye's over the summer months and we can't help but get a little emotional about waving off our leavers. We will miss not only the children but also our families and we hope each and every one of you will pop in after school starts in September to show off your new school uniforms and let us know how you are getting on.
Thanks also go to all the staff who work extremely hard throughout the year and gave up their valuable free time on the day to share the experience with the children.
