September 18 Activities

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower

All of our activities will be running alongside children's individual interests.

Harvest Festival:

Nursery would once again like to support our local community in the traditional way with harvest hampers to be donated to our local foodbank.  Our Preschool and Toddler children will also be going to a local residential home to sing for the residents and drop off harvest cards made by our Babies.

Week Commencing 3rd September

Get to Know Me Week.  Preschool and Toddler Room will be making get to know me packs where the children will be given a large envelope to fill with personal items from home they can look and talk about at circle time.  The children will have the opportunity to create their own self portraits and the Baby Room will be making photo books using home environment and family pictures.

Week Commencing 10th September

Funky Finger Week to celebrate National Playdoh Day on 16th September.  Baby Room will be focusing on stimulating their senses by using scented Playdoh, clay and getting messy exploring the different texture of mud.  Toddler Room will be promoting their fine motor skills by having several sessions of Playdoh gym throughout the week.  Preschool will also be joining in sessions of Playdoh gym and then using Playdoh to make letters on moon mats.

Week Commencing 17th September

It’s Pirate Week and throughout the week, the children are invited to come dressed as pirates to join in our ongoing activities.  We shall be making pirate hats, treasure maps and telescopes to aid the pirates in their treasure hunt to find the ‘golden treats’.  Preschool will also be making a pirate ship to climb aboard and set sail for far off lands.

Week Commencing 24th September

How to Stay Healthy Week.  The Babies will be undertaking a get moving obstacle course in the garden (weather permitting) promoting physical development.  Toddlers and Preschool will be taking part in tooth brushing activities to support the knowledge of keeping our teeth healthy, together with a food challenge to see if they can identify healthy options in order to keep our bodies strong.
