The Old Vicarage is committed to the training and development of its entire workforce to enable each member of staff to reach their full potential.

Our staff have a desire for personal growth and therefore we are fortunate to have a wealth of professional qualifications running throughout our team that far exceeds the minimum level required in childcare.

The management of nursery is carried out under the guidance of Michelle Holt who holds a BA Hons in Early Years (Level 6) and she is currently supporting our senior management team and various practitioners through their continued studies to reach a Foundation Degree in Early Years (Level 5).

The Old Vicarage is proud to also work with Miss Tina who holds a Post Graduate Certificate of Education and BA Hons in Early Years and is a popular member of the team with both the children and parents.

Our remaining practitioners already hold either Level 4 or Level 5 qualifications with our Level 3 practitioners qualified to NNEB, CACHE or BTEC standards. This means all our team has received formal training in their chosen vocation and we welcome students from Blackburn College throughout the year who undertake their placement training and assessment at The Old Vicarage as they start their careers.

Every member of the team is also put through a first aid training course to gain their formal First Aid qualification and this is refreshed at regular intervals, together with formal child safeguarding training.

Our on site chef prepares fresh, homemade food for the children and is able to cater for any child’s dietary requirements. Miss Nina upholds the excellent standard of practice received through our Recipe 4 Health award, together with our 5 star rating from the Foods Standards Agency. Our inspection results can be viewed by clicking on the following link http://ratings.food.gov.uk/business/en-GB/212416/O...

At the nursery we also have a Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator (SENCO) who liaises with the area SENCO, Lancashire Parent Partnership and other local agencies to make sure the needs of your child are met.

The Old Vicarage also ensures all staff are referenced checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and this again is updated at regular intervals.

Everyone at The Old Vicarage Nursery is dedicated to giving your child the best care. Your child’s happiness, health and safety are their main priority.
