April 2019 Activities

April sees the start of the summer term as our thoughts turn to sunshine, showers and the arrival of the Easter Bunny.

All of our activities will be running alongside children's individual interests.

April is looking like another month of celebrations and a flurry of activities throughout Nursery.  We would also like to wish all of our Nursery Family, both past and present, a very happy and peaceful Easter time.

Week Commencing 1st April

The children have continued with their focus on growing, watching with anticipation the seeds planted in March.

Week Commencing 8th April

Nursery will be looking at all things spring with the children creating a range of artwork of spring animals to display throughout Nursery.  Each room will be having a small world farm so the children can discover more about the animals that live there.  We will also be celebrating the weather and looking at the changes spring brings this time of year.

Week Commencing 15th April

Easter is upon us and the children will be making Easter treats to take home and enjoy.  We will be holding our annual egg hunt in the garden and we invite you to make an Easter bonnet at home to bring in for our Easter Bonnet Parade in the garden.

Week Commencing 22nd April

St George's Day is Tuesday 23rd April and we will be holding a Knights and Princess themed party to celebrate.  We invite the children to come dressed in red and white or as a brave knight or beautiful princess.  There will be games and dancing, finished off by a parade in the garden.

Throughout the whole of the week the children will be making flags and dragons and they are invited to wear red and white, the colours of the flag of St George.

Week Commencing 29th April

Our theme for the week is mini beasts and the children will be looking at habitats as we explore the different creatures in our environment.  We love a good bug hunt and our garden has it's own bug hotel which will be getting a revamp with the help of the Preschool children.  The Toddler Room will be looking at the life cycle of a butterfly as they watch our live caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies and the Baby Room will be creating textured bugs to display within the room.
