Goodbye to the longest January ever - Hello February ❤️

All of our activities will be running alongside children's individual interest.

Week Commencing 1st February

To celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week, all rooms will be taking part in a range of different mindfulness activities to include Cosmic Kid yoga sessions. There will be relaxing music to enjoy throughout the week as well as looking at different emotions using mirrors to make faces and the emotion ball as part of circle time.

Week Commencing 8th February

In readiness for our themed lunch on Friday 12thFebruary to celebrate Chinese New Year, the children will be taking part in a variety of crafts such as painting Chinese flags, watching traditional Chinese celebrations to create their own dragon dance, as well as opportunities for the children to develop their fine motor skills through tracing Chinese symbols. 2021 is the Year of the Ox and the children will be discovering a little bit about this Chinese zodiac sign.

In the run up to Valentines Day, the children will be doing a variety of Valentine themed crafts and talking about who we love and why these people are special to us.

Week Commencing 15thFebruary

Spring Half Term Week for our term time children from Monday 15thFebruary through to Friday 19th February.

With Valentine’s Day now over, we thought it would still be nice for the children to continue the celebrations with a Valentines Breakfast with their friends on Monday 15thFebruary.

Tuesday 16th February is Pancake Day! All of the children will be enjoying a pancake bar where they can create their own pancakes and be encouraged to look at different options for toppings. We will be talking about healthy toppings and how they might help us grow and be strong whilst also enjoying a little sweet treat but highlighting what we can do to still stay healthy.

On Wednesday 17th February, we will be celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day and we will be relooking at our Golden Rules to remind ourselves how we can be kind to others around us. Our Preschool and Toddler children will be making friendship bracelets as well as playing our friend matching game.

Week Commencing 22nd February

It’s Engineers Week and the children will be taking part in different junk modelling challenges, some individually, as well as Preschool and Toddlers working on their social skills in a team challenge.

As it is also World Thinking Day on Monday 22ndFebruary, there will be a range of cognitive challenges to take part in which will also include math’s and sensory activities.

27th February is International Polar Bear Day and we will be celebrating Nursery’s sponsored polar bear through the World Wildlife Fund. We will be looking and investigating where he lives, as well as having our own sensory fun in ice.
