October 19 Activities

Winter is an etching, spring is a watercolour, summer an oil painting, and autumn a mosaic of them all.

October Leaves

All of our activities will be running alongside children's individual interest.

Weeks Commencing 30th September & 7th October

Nursery will be focusing on the changing of the season as autumn progresses.  The children will be making sensory baskets and getting creative with conker and leaf printing on a variety of materials.  The Babies and Toddlers will also be creating their own autumn animals, as well as making binoculars to head outdoors and watch the autumn leaves fall.  Preschool will be talking about autumn and what changes takes place throughout the season.

Week Commencing 14th October

Keeping healthy will be our topic of the week as the Preschool children look at their own heart rates and how they change following exercise.  The children will also be discussing the healthy food choices they can make to keep them fit and strong but also focusing in on how they feel using their emotion monsters.  The Babies and Toddlers will be using sensory skills with a range of different healthy foods and making their own slime.  Global Hand Washing Day is on 15th October so we shall be practicing our hand washing skills throughout Nursery.

Week Commencing 21st October

In celebration of Diwali, the children will be making their own tea light holders from salt dough and using a range of different crafts.  All the children will be contributing to creating our own traditional Rangoli pattern which we will be placing outside of Nursery's front door to celebrate the Festival of Light.

Week Commencing 28th October

It's Halloween!!!!  All age groups will be taking part in Halloween activities such as carving Halloween pumpkins, making spooky crafts and getting involved in sensory play with ice and slime.

Thursday 31st October sees the return of our annual Halloween Party.  If your child does not normally attend sessions on a Thursday, they are more than welcome to attend for the party between 1.00pm - 3.00pm at a cost of £5 per child.  The children are invited to come dressed for Halloween fun and there will be a fancy dress competition, party games and food for the children to enjoy.
