All of our activities will be running alongside children's individual interests.
OUR HARVEST HAMPER COLLECTION CONTINUES – We are kindly asking for any donations of non-perishable food items to support our local foodbank. Please leave your donations on the harvest table in the entrance hall by Friday 19th October. Thank you for helping those in need.
Week Commencing 1st October
To celebrate World Animal Day on 4th October, the Toddlers and Preschooler’s will be taking a walk on the ‘wild side’ by investigating natural habitats to see what inhabitants we can identify. We will also take the opportunity to explore other natural environments such as the jungle, under the sea and talk about what type of pets live with us within our own home environments. Pre-school will also be enjoying “There’s a Rumble in the Jungle” story book throughout the week. The Baby Room will be creating jungle animal masks and learning various animal sounds.
Week Commencing 8th and 15th October
Our Preschool and Toddler children will be exploring Space. We will use our developing communication and language skills to investigate and question why things happen and how things work, making good use of our imagination to give our own explanation to what space is. We will be extending our imagination by creating a role play space area, using shapes as we create rockets through our junk modelling resources whilst also making planets and some very questionable googley-eyed aliens. The Baby Room will be having a construction/building theme with the children junk modelling their own creations to take home as well as using different resources such as building blocks, stickle bricks and stacking towers to create a variety of structures. The small world area will take on a construction theme as well as the role play including high viz vests, hard hats and tools.
Week Commencing 22nd and 29th October
As the days become shorter and the nights draw in, the Toddler and Preschool children will be exploring day and night & light and dark. The Toddler Room will be creating their very own dark den and the Baby Room will enjoy a sensory experience with the glow in the dark resources.
HALLOWEEN WEEK will include an outdoor treasure hunt with some spooky clues and scary treats. We will be carving pumpkins with the inners made into a yummy pumpkin soup. Lots of Halloween themed crafts will be taking place in the lead up to Halloween such as mask making, exploring slime, jelly and spiders as well as making some marshmallow ghosts and other tasty treats.
Our annual Halloween Party is on Wednesday 31st October and the children are welcome to come in fancy dress at any point during the week.
