September 2019 Activities

September sees the start of the autumn term and the return of our Nature Kindergarten sessions for the 19-20 academic year. Welcome back everyone and a warm welcome to our new starters.

Harvest Field

All of our activities will be running alongside children's individual interest.

Harvest Festival

Nursery would once again like to support our local community in the traditional way with harvest hampers to be donated to our local foodbank.  Parent’s donations of non-perishable food items will be gratefully received to help those less fortunate who are in need of a little helping hand.

Week Commencing 2nd September

Get to Know Me Week.  Preschool will be talking about similarities and differences they have with those around them, together with sharing their interests both in and out of Nursery.  The Toddler Room will also be speaking about their home environment, building their house and speaking about who lives in them.  The Baby Room will be exploring their black and white family picture book and celebrating those closest to them.  All rooms will be celebrating their individuality by all the children taking part in painting their own self-portraits.

Week Commencing 9th September

Literacy Week.  All of the children are invited to bring in their favourite story enjoyed at home.  Preschool will be drawing familiar storybook characters and looking at how a story is structured.  The Toddler Room will be enjoying story sacks at group time as well as the Baby Room making their own story spoons.  The Baby Room and Toddler Room will also be spending time in our new outside book area.

Week Commencing 17th September

It’s National Playdoh Day on 16th September so to celebrate, the Babies and Toddlers will be exploring playdoh by using different colours and scents to stimulate their senses.  Preschool will be introducing new playdoh mats that promote number and letter recognition and all rooms will be taking part in daily playdoh disco to exercise their fine motor skills.

Week Commencing 23rd September

The Old Vicarage Nursery’s Bake Off Week! To celebrate our McMillan Coffee Morning on Friday 27th September, all rooms will be taking part in different baking activities to sell on the day.  All parents welcome to join us between 9.30 – 11.00 to purchase tasty treats and help to raise money for this very worthwhile cause.
