Once your child is enroled, parents and guardians are given access to the Statement Policy Handbook which covers all aspects of nursery ranging from admission procedures and record keeping through to health and safety and working in partnership with parents.
As well as a statutory duty, The Old Vicarage has a pastoral responsibility towards the children in our care and recognises that children have a fundamental right to be safe and protected from harm. We believe it is always unacceptable for a child to experience abuse of any kind and we recognise our responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children by a commitment to practice which protects them.
For the children’s protection we have security keypads on all external doors and exterior gates around the nursery and only members of staff will have the code to gain entry. An internal and external CCTV camera is located at our front door and main entrance hall for additional security, together with a strict policy to ensure only authorised adults can collect children from our care.
Food and Dietary Requirements
We understand that some children are allergic or intolerant to certain foods. We will cater for any child’s specific requirements and ask all parents before enrolling their child.
When starting nursery, children will be introduced to many positive influences including a host of different 'germs' which will ultimately help their maturing immune system. At The Old Vicarage Nursery we understand that a child can fall ill at any time and policies are in place to ensure required essential medications are administered under parental instructions, as well as procedures to minimise the spread of any infections for the safety of all children.
